We are proud to re-launch Gabbro bistro after a full refurbishment of the furniture and fittings together with a new, extended menu retaining our focus on modern Scottish food using fresh, local produce - the emphasis is on good food for all the family. The new menu is available in Gabbro from 05 March 2010 onwards and we hope that you will like the changes.

The interior has been updated with the addition of modern lighting and mirrors; the seating has been re-upholstered with new dining chairs to match in cream and chocolate leather to create a cosy yet contemporary setting to enjoy a relaxing meal or a few drinks.

We have changed the menu based on a survey taken by our guests, identifying the foods that they wanted to be included and we have changed the design and logo of the bistro too. Gabbro is open to hotel guests and non-residents.

We are open for Dinner everyday as follows:

18:00-21:00hrs Monday - Thursday

18:00-20:30hrs Sunday

18:00-21:30hrs Friday & Saturday

Gabbro also opens for lunch each Sunday between 12:00 - 14:15hrs (We are licensed to serve alcohol until 14:30hrs).

Forthcoming changes include the exterior walls and railings which will be updated and completed in the near future together with new exterior lighting and a new sign!

Without doubt we have a great outside seating area in Edinburgh, with magnificent walled gardens accessed from the Lounge in Gabbro Bistro and with views to Arthur Seat and Salisbury Craggs! Perfect for Al Fresco drinks after a busy day exploring the City attractions. The gardens are divided by a large wall and on one side children are welcome whilst on the other side the adults can enjoy a relaxing space! Gabbro is named after the stalignites of Salisbury Craggs and offers breakfast to our hotel residents between 08:00-10:00am
